Training

Having the right equipment is important. But knowing how to use it is equally important. Ability's training services guide you through the early stages, until you are confident enough to move ahead on your own.

Training can take place at your home, workplace or school. It can be for you alone or for a small group.

We can design training outlines that can be used by other trainers.

If you want to learn at your own pace, at times that suit you, then you may wish to consider Computer-based training on CD-ROM. These lessons can be repeated as often as you choose.

We also conduct training workshops for professionals such as occupational therapists, teachers and rehabilitation counsellors. These are intensive training sessions that take place at Ability House. Small groups (up to six) ensure a personalised leaning environment.

Ability also offers a very limited number of traineeships. These involve an individual attending Ability over an extended period, usually 2-3 months. During this time they have an opportunity to sample different types of work activity, to discover which of these they are interested in and better at. We also help the individual to become more skilled at using any special equipment they are using.
